Reuse and Recycling Policy

At Clearances in Devon, Mark is committed to minimising the amount of waste sent to landfill. Wherever possible, items collected during clearances are reused, recycled or donated.

Reuse First

Mark’s first priority is always reuse. Furniture, appliances, clothing, books and other usable items are assessed during every clearance. Where items are in good condition, Mark will pass them on to local charities, community groups or individuals who can make use of them.

Recycling

Items that cannot be reused are sorted for recycling wherever possible. Metal, wood, cardboard, glass and plastics are separated and taken to licensed recycling facilities across Devon.

Responsible Disposal

Any items that cannot be reused or recycled are disposed of legally and responsibly at licensed waste facilities. Mark is a fully registered waste carrier, licensed by the Environment Agency, and complies fully with all waste disposal regulations.

Hazardous Waste

Mark is unable to collect or dispose of hazardous materials including asbestos, clinical waste, chemicals or paint. If you are unsure whether an item can be collected, please ask Mark before booking.

Our Commitment

Mark believes that responsible disposal is not just a legal obligation — it is the right thing to do. Every clearance carried out by Mark and his local family business is handled with care for both the customer and the environment.

If you have any questions about how we handle waste, please call Mark on 07867180703.
